Setting up keyboard and controller mappings

Last updated June 15, 2026

Mappings are saved per app, not globally, so a fighting game and a shooter can use completely different bindings without stepping on each other.

Creating a mapping

  1. With the app open, click the controller icon in the side panel to open the mapping editor.
  2. Click a spot on the screen you want to bind, then press the key or controller input to assign it.
  3. Repeat for each control. Drag an existing binding to reposition it if the touch target feels off.
  4. Click Save. The profile is now tied to this app and loads automatically next time you open it.

Controllers

Any XInput or DirectInput controller works on Windows and Linux. On macOS, controllers that support Apple's Game Controller framework are recognized automatically. Because the mapping layer sits in the native engine rather than in a shared compatibility layer, the same controller behaves the same way across all three platforms.

Copying a mapping to another app

Open the mapping editor for the app you want to copy from, click Export, then Import it from the new app's mapping editor. This is faster than rebuilding a layout by hand for apps that share similar controls.
